Good to know
- Before this regulation, Oman did not guarantee end-of-service for domestic workers. Service before it took effect may not be covered – check with the Ministry of Labour.
- If the worker transfers to another employer, dues must be settled within five days; if leaving Oman permanently, the gratuity is due within three days.
- A worker dismissed for serious misconduct (e.g. assault or prolonged unjustified absence) may lose the gratuity.
